Measuring body composition

Measuring body composition.

BodyEvolver is an entirely web-based body measurement system that was designed for trainers who aren't accustomed to regularly performing body composition tests. Simply take the measurements on your clients as illustrated, enter these figures on our interactive Body Check Form and let the system tabulate the data and keep a log of it over time. All of the 12 key spots that you need to measure on your client's body, such as arm, waist, hips, triceps, midaxilary and abdominal areas, are assembled on one assessment form.  As you mouse over each field on the form, it shows you exactly where and how to take that measurement, ensuring that follow up measurements are all taken consistently.

Circumference measurements are taken along with skinfold measurements to calculate a client's true body fat percentage. There are roll-over pictures to help explain exactly how and where each measurement should be taken. Here are a few examples:

Skinfold tests, as opposed to bio-electrical impedance analysis, are more useful in discovering where a person holds the most fat and can even provide biomarkers to better program these clients for exercise. For some it may be the stomach, for others the thighs, and some people may have fat more evenly distributed. You'll be able to measure:

Metabolic rate
Percent body fat
Pounds of lean tissue
Pounds of fat
Waist to hip ratio
Body density
Body Mass Index

This in-depth body composition analysis, our "Body Check Report", provides a baseline departure point to now evaluate the quantitative progress of your clients.

These colorful charts help educate clients and give them a clear perspective on where they are at and where they need to be.
